Many schools require teachers to maintain a set of class pages on the school website. These pages house a lot of important information regarding the class. Furthermore, teachers include introductions, contact information, announcements, upcoming assignments, study guides, and additional resources. On the site I chose, the teacher includes a lot of information including her email, recommended school supplies, resources and links for practice tips, and assignment due dates. https://cchs.cornwallschools.com/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=818814&type=u   When I become a teacher I will definitely create a website. I will include all information I feel is important to include. Furthermore, my website will be a place where students can go if they have any questions regarding what they have and will be learning throughout the year. If students or parents have any questions, my email will be linked on the home page. Prior to this class I have never used a wiki platform. For our  last as

This was my first time using Diigo. Navigating the website was a little confusing at first  however after some time playing around with it, it became easier. I like how everything is pretty straightforward. Furthermore, the site is very organized and applications are easy to find. As of now, there's nothing I don't like about the software. So far I love blogging! I’ve always wanted to start a blog so this is an awesome way to get familiar with a blogging website. I like all the prompts we’ve been given and like how we can read other peoples responses. Overall, I think it's a great way to make sure we are understanding the course content. The blogging process has taught me how to post and comment on a blogging website. YouTube is a Web 2.0 tool that I plan on using in my classroom. Prior to this class, I have never used Twitter. Downloading it I didnt know what to expect. As I've used the app I've noticed that it is pretty simplistic and easy to navigate. For a previous portfolio assignment we had to join an education related chat which I've never done before. I thought this was a cool way to talk about relevant educational topics and get other people input and ideas. I will definitely be participating in chats like this when I become a teacher. It's a great way to develop and advance as a teacher. The Digital Divide addresses the divide between people who do and don't have access to technology. The Digital Divide creates a disparity among students. Furthermore, students who have technology access at home are said to be at a greater advantage for educational success than students who do not. As a classroom teacher I will have to understand that not every student will have access to a computer and the internet at home. I will make sure that eve

The purpose of the ELA technology standards is to prepare students for technology use in and out of the classroom. The tools suggested are not required however can be very beneficial to students. I chose the LAFS.6.RI.3.7 standard for grade 6 wh ich integrates information presented in different media or formats as well as in words to ultimately develop a coherent understanding of a topic or issue. Students will use tools to create online video/media albums, charts, and timelines. As of now I think I need more practice to feel comfortable implementing this in a classroom. I feel this way because I have a very beginner skill set. The CPALMS Educator Toolkit website has many useful resources and tools for teachers. I chose a resource under the grade 3 mathematics category titled, “Nature Walk: Fractions Less Than 1 on a Number Line”. This is a very captivating and fun resource that I would definitely use in my classroom. This resource provides many audio recordings of a math lesson with
